

Mark Kanter
graduated in 1989 from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and will serve as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Manager.
After graduation, Mr. Kanter joined the investment real estate firm of Marcus & Millichap where he specialized in the sale of apartments in Los Angeles County. Mr. Kanter has been an active real estate investor since 1993, with a portfolio that includes apartments, medical office and retail properties. In 1992, as the Southern California real estate market was suffering through an economic recession, Mr. Kanter and his partner at the time formed Assessment Appeals Group, LLC ("AAG"), which represented its clients in contesting unfair property tax assessments. From 1992 to 1997, AAG represented several thousand property owners in appealing their property taxes, resulting in property tax savings in excess of $15 million.
In 1997, Mr. Kanter left AAG to form Commercial Realty Consultants, Inc. ("CRC") to focus his efforts on commercial and multi-family real estate finance. In 2007, CRC was responsible for the placement of $1.3 billion in financing and is recognized as one of the leaders in its field. Other ventures in which Mr. Kanter is engaged include Del Mar Equity Partners, Inc., which was jointly formed with two other partners in 2005. As a principal and managing director, Mr. Kanter has actively participated in over 20 acquisitions/dispositions of various retail, office, mixed use and multi-family properties in California, Nevada, Washington and Texas. Mr. Kanter is the president of MBK Management, Inc., which manages his portfolio of apartment buildings in Los Angeles and Ventura counties in California.
